What is The Compassion Foundation of Kansas City?

A non-profit 501 (c)(3) educational organization founded in 2000 committed to the belief that, “All children should receive the gift of education, regardless of socio-economic status.”  The Foundation seeks to inspire a passion for life-long learning, encourages students to become role models and supports them giving back to their communities.  We sponsor children in the border town of Ranchos De Anapra, Mexico, on the outskirts of Juarez, Mexico, to enable them to continue their education when their families are not financially able. The CFKC works with two elementary schools, Jamie Torres Bodeth and Xicotecatl and one middle school, Federal Catorce.

Where is Ranchos De Anapra?

Ranchos de Anapra is a fast-growing  border town located on the remote outskirts of Juarez, Mexico, 20 minutes from El Paso, Texas.  There is a vast shortage of decent housing and substandard conditions exist in this poor area which lacks infrastructure. An average house is flat-topped with 200-400 square feet and is commonly constructed with materials that are obtained by the city dump.  Although there are areas that have running water, others still obtain their water in trucks.  Wind from the mesa blows fiercely and sends silt and dust into the homes.
